January 30 thru February 7. The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race kicks off on Friday night the 30th. The race departs from downtown Jackson Hole at 6:00pm with teams leaving every two minutes, this leg of the race works its way from the town square through the downtown streets of Jackson to Snow King Resort. With fireworks and a “Meet the Mushers” event at the finish line.

The IPSSSDR is the largest sled dog race in the lower 48 states and a qualifying event for the Iditarod. With its unique Stage Stop racing format, the race traverses through many Wyoming and Utah communities, stopping in a different town each night. The race begins in Jackson Hole and finishes in Park City, Utah.

Founded in 1996 by Frank Teasley with the assistance of co-founder Jayne Ottman, RN MS, to promote childhood immunizations, and to make sled dog racing more accessible to the public. The event promotes awareness of the need for children to be vaccinated against preventable diseases.
